Marco Minnemann endorses the
Great Leather Drumstick Bag™!
"My Great Leather stickbag is definitely one of a kind and very special indeed. First of all very comfortable to handle and carry and thanks to the velcro locks and the amazing quality very durable and reliable. Awesome piece of gear."
AN AWESOME GIFT !!! (to yourself?) This bag was first made for pro drummer, Gary Sullivan (former drummer for Reba McEntire, member of the Western Swing Hall of Fame, and world class percussionist). It was made to the specifications he wished for in the design of the "ultimate" drumstick bag in 1990. In 2003, I went over all the seams and reconditioned it for him. He is still using it today.
It takes 10 square feet of quality top grain leather to make the Great Leather Drumstick Bag! It's fully lined, with the same leather throughout, and has a tough fiber filler between the inside and outside layers. The seams are sewn with quality bonded nylon thread, for longevity, and all the stress points have extra stitches.
On the outside of the bag, there are two flapped pockets for carrying your drum key, moongel, etc. Inside, there is one large pocket divided into three sections and a flap that protects the sticks when the bag is closed. When you open the bag, the flap goes to the back, pulling the handle down out of the way.
The bag attaches to the side tom by way of two S hooks. There is an additional S hook in each top corner for hanging a drum key and open brushes. The bag closes securely with velcro straps, and has a filled leather handle that is strong and comfy.

Dena,
"When the leather stick bag I’ve used for 30 years finally reached it’s end (there are only so many repairs you can make before it’s just time to move on), I was in the market for a suitable replacement. I
grudgingly settled for a few synthetic bags until I came across this stick bag from Great Leather. As soon as I received it, I knew I had made the right choice. Not only is it the perfect size and design but the finished product is truly a work of art. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the leather quality is beyond anything I’ve seen in other leather bags. It looks deceptively small yet it really holds quite a lot. I regularly carry 6-7 pair of sticks, a pair of brushes, three pair of hot-rods and a couple different pairs of mallets, and it
holds them all with ease (fortunately, the velcro closure also makes it very adaptable if I happen to need to carry more or less).
If you’ve been drumming as long as I have, you know how important the right stick bag can become to you - like that one special tool that a craftsman always carries and loves to use. This bag is beautiful, functional, and comfortable; a trusted companion at every gig. I liked my Great Leather stick bag so much that I bought one for my best friend (also a drummer) for his 50th birthday.
I’m confident that I’ve found the bag to last me another 30 years.
Money, well spent. Thanks, Dena."

Testimony straight from Charlie Morgan >
When Dena first brought me this stick bag, I was totally amazed by the workmanship and the quality of the leather.
Let's be straight: this is, without a doubt, the Rolls-Royce of stick bags, so much so that for the first 2 weeks I was reluctant to take it out of the house! But to keep it locked away would be a bit like owning a Ferrari and never driving it, so I finally plucked up the courage and took it with me on gigs and sessions.
It is very compact, and yet holds exactly what's needed for most gigging drummers: Several pairs of sticks, brushes, blastiks etc... The protective flap (which folds over the sticks in their compartments) is a nice idea, as is the way it stands up on its own when you close it. There is a really sturdy handle on the top, too. On the outside there are a couple of useful pockets for drum keys etc... The whole thing attaches to the floor tom by way of 2 well-placed hooks. A lot of thought has gone into the ergonomics of this bag, I can tell.
SO far it has worn extremely well. As I said, I was a little concerned, given the high quality of the leather, but leather being what it is, it can take everyday knocks and bangs extremely well. If you are a Heavy Metal drummer, who breaks 10 pairs of sticks a night, this is possibly not the stick bag for you, but then I doubt if there IS a bag to cater for your needs! For me, personally, this has everything I need, and adds a touch of class whilst doing it!
Every drummer should treat themselves to it!
A little tid bit about Charlie as told by Wikipedia- ... By 1985, he was one of the busiest session drummers in Europe, which attracted the attention of Elton John, who booked him to play on his Ice on Fire album. Later that year John invited him to play with his band at Live Aid. This was the start of a thirteen year period of recording and touring with John. Amongst the other artists Morgan has recorded with are: Paul McCartney, Tina Turner ("We Don't Need Another Hero", from the movie: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome), Nik Kershaw (Human Racing, The Riddle and Radio Musicola), Tracey Ullman ("They Don't Know"), Matt Bianco, Gary Moore, Alan Stivell and Pete Townshend (The Iron Man: A Musical)...
Testimony from Randall Coyne > I've played drums since 1972, and have owned dozens of stick bags and cases. This bag leaves all others in the dust. Even stick bags supposedly endorsed or designed by major drumset artists don't begin to approach this one, in terms of pure beauty, elegance and durability. I've spent 35 years searching for the perfect kit, the perfect cymbals, and the perfect kick pedal. I'm still searching, but I've found the stick bag of my dreams. If you absolutely need to bring dozens of pairs of sticks, brushes, mallets to every gig, this isn't likely your cup of tea. But on the gig last night, I brought my Great Leather bag, filled with 2 pairs of brushes, 4 pairs of sticks and a pair of yarn mallets. The 2 front pouches are handy also, and easily hold drum keys, felts, and -- for those who have to work with female lead singers -- a small can of mace. It ain't cheap, but neither are Rolexes, Porsches and Prada purses. I may not be a great drummer, but carrying this bag into a gig makes me feel like I can play one on TV. It's not a question of whether this is the best stick bag available. The question is, "Do you deserve it?"

Hi Dena!
My girlfriend bought one of your extraordinarily well crafted drumstick bags for me about a year ago.
I think that great craftsmanship must be praised, and I have never as a drummer experienced that kind of functionality, innovation and class in a drummer accessory! The bag is great, and it still amazes me every time i drag it along.
I do not understand why the bag is not commonly seen around the European stages and music schools.
Keep up the great work! :)

p.s. She had to pay as much in tax as she had paid for the bag, but in my opinion it was still worth it!
(he is talking about the tax Denmark collected)
